The Saturn Imum Coeli Line

The bottom of the sky, directly beneath the Midheaven and on the far side of the Earth from it. It is the angle of private ground, and it governs home, family, property, roots, and the part of a life nobody is watching.

An Imum Coeli line is a meridian, and it is the exact opposite meridian to the same planet's Midheaven line: half a world apart, one straight stroke each.

The Imum Coeli holds family, property and the earliest material a person is made from, and Saturn puts pressure on all three. It is heavy ground, and it is the ground on which a great deal of genuine repair gets done, because the things this angle holds are usually the things a life has been avoiding. Nobody chooses this line for ease. It gets chosen for finishing something.

Domestic life can go cold and small here, with duty crowding out affection. The feeling of being trapped by family is common in this place, and the building itself usually needs more than you budgeted for.

Bring this line a question about responsibility: a house that needs work, a parent who needs help, a family situation that has been deferred. It takes that seriously. It is a bad line to weigh for a year off, and if the decision in front of you is where to be light for a while, this is not the ground for it.

Right when the childhood story has to be looked at soberly rather than felt, or when a home must be built from the ground rather than moved into. It will demand that you carry family weight and it will not be warm, and it will leave the foundation sound for the first time.

Saturn is one of the five bodies the tradition calls difficult, and all twenty of those entries carry a passage like this one. A demanding line is not a verdict.

The interpretation is a different kind of thing and we would rather say so than blur it. It is craft, written by hand in the tradition locational astrologers have refined since the nineteen seventies, and it describes what a place tends to support and to demand. It is not a prediction, and no line on any map decides what happens to a person.
