The Angle

What an Imum Coeli line is.

The bottom of the sky, directly beneath the Midheaven and on the far side of the Earth from it. It is the angle of private ground, and it governs home, family, property, roots, and the part of a life nobody is watching.

An Imum Coeli line is a meridian, and it is the exact opposite meridian to the same planet's Midheaven line: half a world apart, one straight stroke each.

Why Sun on this angle in particular.

The Imum Coeli sits directly beneath the Midheaven, and running the Sun through it inverts everything the overhead line does. The same vitality goes into rooms, land and family instead of into reputation. People often meet this line by accident, finding that somewhere they moved to for practical reasons has quietly become the place they want to make things in.

The Interpretation

What this line tends to support.

Our own entry for Sun Imum Coeli, quoted exactly as the readings use it.

The brightness turns inward and settles at the hearth. Home matters here in a way it may not have before: the rooms, the land, the lineage, the plain pride of having made a place that is unmistakably yours. Vitality is restored in private rather than spent in public, and the household organizes itself around your warmth.

What to watch for.

The outside world can begin to feel like an interruption to your own hallway, and talent kept indoors goes unexercised. Family life here arranges itself around one person's sun, and that person is you, which is pleasant for you and heavier for everyone else.

Is this the line you are looking for?

A line to consult about where to put down roots, buy something, or raise people. It is not a career answer and it will mislead you if you make it one, because the vitality it describes goes indoors. Worth reading closely if you have been choosing cities by what they do for your work and have started noticing that you do not want to be in any of them on a Sunday.

Computed

Where this line actually runs.

A line meaning is easy to write and hard to check, so here is this one on three real charts. Cast any of them in software you trust and the lines should land where we say they do. The method, and what we do not claim, is here.

Nowhere in the gazetteer sits within 80 km of this line: no city of 100,000 people or more, and no national capital. That is a real answer rather than a missing one. This line spends its length over water, ice or ground nobody has built a city on.

Nearest first, kept 150 km apart so a list reads as a map. Countries on the US State Department Do Not Travel list are left out, checked 2026-07-26. Everything named is within 80 km, the tightest band we use; influence carries out to 805 km. The field guide has the bands in full.

How This Page Was Made

Which parts are measured, and which are craft.

The distances are measured. Each is the shortest great-circle distance from a real settlement to the exact curve of the line, computed against a committed public-domain gazetteer by the same engine that measures a paying customer's own.

The interpretation is a different kind of thing and we would rather say so than blur it. It is craft, written by hand in the tradition locational astrologers have refined since the nineteen seventies, and it describes what a place tends to support and to demand. It is not a prediction, and no line on any map decides what happens to a person.
