The eastern horizon: where this planet was climbing into view at the minute you were born. It is the angle of the self, and it governs the body, the manner, and the way a place meets you before you have said anything to it.
An Ascendant line is a curve, not a stripe. The longitude where a planet rises shifts with latitude, and it shifts hardest near the latitudes where that planet stops rising at all.
The Ascendant is the surface a person presents, and Pluto is the planet that goes underneath it. Living here is usually described as intense long before it is described as good: presence increases, privacy becomes necessary, and whatever was buried tends to surface on the place's schedule rather than on yours. It is not a casual line and it is not a subtle one.

The place takes the old self apart. Pressure finds whatever is false in how you present and dismantles it, generally without asking, and what remains has a density other people feel from across a room. Death and rebirth here is a daily practice rather than a metaphor.
Intensity at this level exhausts, and it can curdle into suspicion and control. You may find yourself drawn toward situations that test you unnecessarily, and there is a particular fatigue that belongs to being remade again and again.
Do not weigh this line casually. It is a real answer to a question about starting over at the root and a bad answer to almost anything about the next year or two in particular, because what it describes works on a slower clock than a decision usually runs on. Choose it for a decade, not for a season.
This is the strongest ground available to someone who has been made small, by a person or by circumstance, and needs their own force back. It will demand that you face what you have buried and it will be genuinely hard, and it produces a self that does not break under pressure the next time.
Pluto is one of the five bodies the tradition calls difficult, and all twenty of those entries carry a passage like this one. A demanding line is not a verdict.

The distances are measured. Each is the shortest great-circle distance from a real settlement to the exact curve of the line, computed against a committed public-domain gazetteer by the same engine that measures a paying customer's own.
The interpretation is a different kind of thing and we would rather say so than blur it. It is craft, written by hand in the tradition locational astrologers have refined since the nineteen seventies, and it describes what a place tends to support and to demand. It is not a prediction, and no line on any map decides what happens to a person.
